Expeditions

An expedition is about exploration, exposition, and discovery. The value is in the journey itself. It is not simply a pleasurable means to escape (that would be a vacation). Instead it is way to grow and to experience the social, artistic, architectural, literary, historical, and culinary aspects of a people and place – to be able to incorporate those aspects into your own life and to then share them with others.

My expeditions started back in 2000 and have ranged from short stays (in the early days in conjunction with presentations at academic conferences) to the current multi-week intensive explorations of culture and place.
